SWEET SUNDAY

DSCN0342Okay- to update- the Bonnie Hunt Show was a bust- basically, they shipped in 4 moms to wear this dude’s dresses. It was NOT Tim Gunn, it was Christian Siriano- the mini-”fierce”-elf who won last year. He was annoying so I tortured him the entire time. “Christian, you probably want me as the new face of your line right.” (Small smile) “Christian, while they’re doing that do you wanna text each other and talk about relationships. (Smirk) “Christian, do you want me to stand next to you on stage and play with your hair?” (Bigger grin)
So, I won the elf over. His entourage was 3 girls with a collective I.Q. of 7. Literally, the other Moms, nominator pals and I stayed as far from them as possible. Everyone on the BH show was awesome, warm and inviting and real. In our green room though there was champagne (Oh, joy) a bowl of strawberries and 2 boxes of Sees just set out like; “Oh, here- this is pamper-ish, have this.” It was what it was. I spoke to Bonnie herself for about 30 seconds and the show didn’t even really mention why any of us were there. Bizarre. The upside; I got a new BFF in my FABULOUS gay, makeup guy, Gregory, Instant love. I had great makeup and got a bog of Mac Makeup which is GREAT and I would never buy for myself otherwise. I got to keep the RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED black dress I wore and will immediately E-bay that fucker after I wear it to my Dad’s x-mas party. I think Estrella was disappointed and frankly, I missed being in P.J.’s with Doug & the kids but there ya have it. An interesting tangent in the otherwise normal week. I am mostly just so touched and awed at Estrella’s initiative and her AMAZING letter. She is a keeper…
On to present; today RULED! We went to a small X-mas parade last night with great friends and I swam in the quaint “Mayberry-ness” of it all. (Yes, I cried.) and today we woke up, went to Dad & Sherry’s for pancakes and got ready. Doug prepped our backyard for the coming rains, put up x-mas lights, and did 4-5 other mini- “honey-do’s” around the house for me. I got what may have been the BEST massage of my life from a tiny Korean gal, Bow and got to grocery shop ALONE! The kids made due amongst it all and I am feeling so happy and hopeful about X-mas. We’re poor but we’re happy…. and we totally KICKED THIS SUNDAY’S ASS!!
