Enough about fucking cancer- let’s talk about how broke we are.
I went to my son’s school open house. He goes to an awesome Lutheran private school and after pre-school, they can go across the street to Laurel Hall k-8th. it was amazing. The classrooms are great, the teachers engaging and funny, the curriculum is advanced (Spanish, Music and computers) and the school is unbelievable.
It’s also almost 10K a year… 20K when Scout starts.
I know this is “nothing” compared to some of the Westside and coastal private schools but we just don’t have it. There are no scholarships or financial aid and we can not continue conducting our lives “as if” we’re in a different financial situation. As of today and the coming months- we can’t afford it. We are in an AMAZING public school district. Literally- I see parents cruising the neighborhood looking for rentals to get into our school… we have to start looking at that one. I am anxious about Max because I was comforted knowing that he would be in class with kids he’s known but then again… he’s Max. he’s “the ambassador”, he’ll be fine. and, as soon as Doug books a series, makes his movie or I sell my script or get this friggin’ radio show off the ground we’ll fly back there
